At the change of the year 2008 GloStra is entering into its third phase, which is described below.

In the fast globalizing surroundings, companies are forced to adopt and develop new abilities and business models, which enable operations in several new markets among many different societies. In mature markets it is vital to enter new, opening markets, whereas in growing markets the key role is on new abilities. These abilities are fiercely used to develop, protect, and commercialize technology innovations.

This third phase of GloStra continues the pilot project started already in 2004. In the near future it attempts to create successful models of operations for two lines of business, which are going be centrally significant for the competitiveness of Finnish society. The driving force behind this project is to create a strategic tools that are suitable for global operations. These tools are to be specified by their line of business and created with understanding the comprehensive and dynamic nature of strategy
