			<description>&lt;p&gt;PhD Juha Mattsson has won 2nd prize in the Sloan Industry Studies 2008 Dissertation Award Competition.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;DI Liang Fang has won the 2008 TKK Thesis Competition. Earlier Liang already won the Thesis Competition of the Finnish Strategic Management Society.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

			<title>Sloan Industry Studies 2008 Best Paper Prize for Lamberg and Tikkanen</title>

			<description>&lt;p&gt; Juha-Antti Lamberg and Henrikki Tikkanen, members of the GloStra research group, have received international  prize for their paper “Changing Sources of Competitive Advantage: Cognition and Path Dependence in the Finnish Retail Industry 1945-1995”. The paper was awarded as the Sloan Industry Studies 2008 Best Paper.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; In selecting their paper, the committee said: &lt;br/&gt; &lt;br/&gt; &quot;This paper offers a sweeping perspective of the changing dynamics of the Finnish retail industry over four decades, during which dominant-firm status changed hands several times. ... The paper is academically important because of its well-grounded analytical framework that coherently describes how technological change, different firm strategies, ideologies, and stakeholder interests interacted to determine the evolution of an industry. The paper is also important for practitioners ... and has been a key part of corporate education programs.&quot; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; The award is also recognized on the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s website and on the Industry Studies listserv.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
