Good and Bad News

Published in Blog by Juha Antti Lamberg

Good news

Summer 2008 was very successful for the Glostra group. Juha-Antti Lamberg, Mikko Valorinta and Henri Schildt were nominated for the Carolyn Dexter Award at the Academy of Management Conference in Anaheim. At the same meeting, Juha Mattsson was the finalist for the best doctoral dissertation in entrepreneur studies (Heizer & NFIB Doctoral Dissertation Award).

Juha is also a finalist in the Sloan Industry studies dissertation competition and we wish him good luck! The nominations are further manifestations of the innovative research in the Glostra group. Other highlights are Jasu Koponen’s comprehensive guide to Web2 worlds and the Strategic Management Journal article by Juha-Antti Lamberg, Henrikki Tikkanen, Tomi Nokelainen and Henri Suur-Inkeroinen.

Bad news

Professor Juha Näsi passed away some weeks ago. Juha was a dynamic and warm friend and colleague who was taken away too soon. Juha was a pioneer in Finnish business economics. He introduced strategy and stakeholder management discourses for the Finnish audience and was a determined proponent of more humanistic approaches to management field. In the period of dominance of social democracy in the Finnish society, Juha held the flag of free market and entrepreneurial ideology.
